Jacob Andra is the founder and CEO of Talbot West, an enterprise advisory and engineering firm that helps organizations identify and realize consequential economic opportunities.

His work spans enterprise strategy, artificial intelligence, organizational intelligence, and industrial development. He focuses particularly on opportunities whose value depends on relationships among technologies, organizations, capital, and productive capabilities.

Jacob leads Talbot West’s strategic direction, major enterprise engagements, and development of new commercial and institutional opportunities. His approach combines decades of business leadership with technical understanding, systemic reasoning, and commercial judgment.

Jacob is the author of A Theory of Enterprise Coherence, which examines how organizations perceive reality, form judgments, act, and learn. The theory develops an account of enterprise cognition and explains how organizational arrangements affect a company’s ability to recognize opportunities and turn decisions into economic results.

He also originated FRAME, Talbot West’s modernization decision methodology, and APEX, its application to AI investment prioritization. These methods connect economic judgment with the architecture and sequencing of enterprise capabilities.

Jacob leads the American Industrial Capability Project (AICP), a Talbot West initiative devoted to understanding and advancing American productive capability. The project combines industrial research, original analysis, and engagement with manufacturers, investors, and institutions to identify opportunities that extend across conventional industrial boundaries.

AICP’s Beyond the Obvious in Defense Production examines opportunities to expand industrial capacity through engineering, production methods, capital deployment, and new economic arrangements. Related work on Industrial Base Coherence examines how the relationships among industrial participants shape the capabilities of the larger system.

Beyond Talbot West, Jacob serves on the advisory board of Lucidity Sciences, a company developing advanced machine learning technology, where he contributes to enterprise strategy and commercialization. He also advises 47G on enterprise matters and serves on the Industry Advisory Board of Neumont University, where he has delivered guest instruction in advanced AI harness engineering.

Jacob writes and speaks on enterprise strategy, artificial intelligence, organizational intelligence, and industrial capability. He hosts The Applied AI Podcast and is based in the Salt Lake City area.
